Meet our Moss Eggers, the F1 hybrid green egg layer that’s a clever little creation for anyone who wants something a bit different in their flock.

These are first generation (F1) hybrids of a blue egg gene rooster, Crested Cream Legbar, and brown egg gene hens, our own line of production hens bread for egg production and a friendly, curious  temperament.

These birds sport a striking mix of colors and barring, with small toupee like crests, giving them a bold, eye-catching look that pairs nicely with their mossy green eggs. Roosters often carry a bit more flair in pattern and color, while hens tend to have a softer, earthier palette.

When it comes to egg production, these hybrids are consistent layers of large green eggs, adding a touch of whimsy to your breakfast.

As for the “F1 hybrid” part, F1 means first-generation cross: a rooster of one breed (in this case, a blue egg layer) is mated with hens of another breed (brown egg layers). The result is a healthy, vigorous flock with predictable traits, like green eggs, plus a bit of that hybrid vigor that keeps them strong and productive.
